BMW Concept X9

BMW Concept X9 1
The BMW X9 is designed by Khalfi Oussama is a 18-year-old designer from Tunisia. This concept car design X9 has very futuristic and very aggressive color sense. It could be a proposal for a new Batmobile.

BMW has seen some rather odd looking cars roll off the production line over the past 10 years, but Khalfi Oussama’s new X9 off roader concept coupe takes oddball beemers to a whole new level. The X9’s massive wheels and excessively wide (not to mention oddly patterned) tyres combined with its color matched side-steps and heavy-duty crash plates front and rear definitely showcase the car’s intentions. At first glance, this concept car BMW X9 seems more suited to Hollywood than the actual driving in the streets. This will be used on any type of a car engine, is currently no detailed information, but because everything is the result of imagination, so anything is possible. As we know, attractive design and powerful engines rely on each other, but both a model of success in both play an important role.

Strange about the design of rich people sometimes go far beyond the imagination of car makers imagination, which launched in recent weeks from so many works on the concept car design is evident. This BMW concept car designed for 18-year-old X9 designer seems a lot of experience in automotive design, as he had also drawn up before several other models, futuristic design sketches, including BMW and Ferrari models.

The BMW X9 Concept blends the sporty bodylines of a coupe with the rolling stock of an off roader much like BMW’s chunky yet sporty looking X6 soft roader. The BMW X9 coupe also carries a new interpretation of BMW’s signature kidney grille, although Oussama’s version is considerably smaller than the current flock of BMWs. The grille sits alongside a set of unique twin-headlights, as well as a pair of tiny foglights that are set into the bumper.

Audi A9 Concept

Audi A9 Concept 1
This is the A9 sports sedan study, a look at BMW's Vision concept through Audi's eyes (unofficially of course) that was created by independent designer Daniel Garcia from Spain. Just as BMW tried to invent a new market with its 5-Series GT, the Audi A9 would aim to be in a league of its own: over-styled (in a good way) über-luxury hybrid sports saloons. A technologically-advanced Panamera killer. Garcia says some of the lines were inspired by architect Santiago Calatrava's buildings in Valencia. As for that opaque front wind-ceiling, it's made of "as-yet undiscovered nanotechnology material" that can fix itself and be color/tint adjusted. By the time a market for something like this existed, it's very likely that Audi could have the gasoline engine / in-wheel electric motors Garcia is suggesting. The only thing I'd rectify is that Insight-y front end.

BMW M1 Homage Concept Car

BMW M1 Homage Concept Car
The overall design is driven by functionality and each detail has its purpose. The Liquid Orange paintwork exclusively developed for the BMW M1 Homage cites the classic BMW M1 colour, yet surprises with its powerfully iridescent play of colour and brilliant depth. It shapes the extrovert surface language and strikingly highlights the eloquent interplay of convex and concave surfaces. A telling symbol of this is the kidney grille design of the BMW M1 Homage, fulfilling as it does several functions at the same time. The twin kidney isn't just a signature BMW feature, it is also part of the car's honed aerodynamics: it guides the air to the engine cooling as well as constituting the front section of a crash box, similar to the monocoque chassis of a Formula One race car. Mention the BMW M1, and another feature that immediately springs to mind is the characteristic twin logo at the rear, on the right and left edge above the tail lights. For BMW, this particular arrangement of its emblems has always signalled a mid-engined model. In the development stage of the BMW M1 this dual emblem was the first styling element to be approved even before the initial sketches were drawn. Other specific styling cues taken from the BMW M1 are the air vents in the bonnet and the louvres on the rear windscreen, as well as the black cutline dividing the roofline from the rear section of the body. Overall, the exterior dimensions of the BMW M1 Homage are in keeping with those of the BMW M1; only the extended wheelbase indicates a larger passenger cell. The cooling air routing for the engine is positioned below the roofline, in the black recessed cutline along the side of the vehicle behind the window graphic. Small flaps and openings guide the air stream into the engine compartment to ensure an adequate supply of cooling air.

2012 BMW M1

2012 BMW M12012 BMW M1
The car isn’t likely to be a plug in hybrid, but a hybrid system is expected. And rather than a diesel engine, 2012 BMW M1 would use conventional gasoline motor, likely the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 found in cars like the X6 Active Hybrid.

The powertrain will bundle a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with an electric motor, a combination which in production trim should deliver more than 350 horsepower and nearly 600 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a dual-clutch gearbox, the hybrid system will propel the future M1 from zero to 60 in less than 5 seconds. Top speed will be electronically governed to 155 mph, while fuel economy is projected to be class-leading.

Other production features adapted from the concept include an ultralow ride height, active aerodynamics, aggressive styling and cutting-edge technology. The new M1 is anticipated to target the Audi R8, suggesting a sticker price of more than $115,000.

Folks have been speculating about the looks of next generation BMW M6 and one of these pics have been attached in this post. There haven’t been any official 2012 BMW M6 pictures unveiled, but the internet is already loaded with millions of speculated images.

BMW M6 is expected to have a sleeker design, rear headlights closely resembling the BMW CS Concept, and some sporty wheels, probably 21″. It is not sure whether the 2012 BMW M6 will have a carbon fiber roof or a glass roof, and how its hood will look like. The present generation BMW M6 already churns out 500hp, and with further tweaking it can easily deliver 650+ hp, with the help of a turbocharger, other performance parts or a BMW M6 engine stroker.

2011 BMW X5

2011 2010
2011 BMW X5

2011 BMW X5 will write the latest chapter in the story of the world's first Sports Activity Vehicle® in the spring of 2010. Originally launched for the 2000 model year in late 1999, the BMW X5 permanently changed the automotive landscape. It proved that the driving dynamics, responsiveness, and linear control signature to every BMW could be compatible with utility, versatility, and other-roads capability. For 2011, the BMW X5 models are enhanced with new powertrains and updated design. The new BMW X5 will make its North American debut at the 2010 New York International Auto Show.

Innovative new design elements and powertrains are the result of over 4,000 new parts created by BMW designers and engineers for the 2011 BMW X5. Two of the X5's powertrains will be all-new for 2011, creating the new BMW X5 xDrive50i and BMW X5 xDrive35i, in addition to the familiar BMW Advanced Diesel X5 xDrive35d. All models receive a design update that enhances the brilliant focus and aesthetic appearance of the X5 brand.

Fresh Design. Well-Balanced Proportions.

The body design of the 2011 BMW X5 is characterized by well-balanced proportions that accentuate the vehicle's powerful presence and agility. A long wheelbase, short front and rear body overhangs, and large light-alloy wheels provide a visual balance between the front and rear of the vehicle. Square-shaped, carefully flared wheel arches hint at the BMW X5's all-wheel drive traction and other-roads capability. The body lines sweep upwards from the front and rear wheels, communicating BMW's near-perfect 50-50 front-rear weight distribution which is so essential to the BMW X5's legendary driving dynamic.

The sides of the BMW X5 are elegantly stretched though the strong horizontal lines of each side. The surface of the hood flows seamlessly into the waiseline, while the prominent, gently inclined contour line at the door handle level extends from the front wheel arches to the rear of the vehicle. These character lines symbolize power, stability, and presence.

With its distinctively contoured hood, large BMW kidney grille and dual round headlights, the new BMW X5 boasts an expressive front end that symbolizes power and presence. The newest interpretation of the BMW X5's look is led by the redesign of the front fascia and position of the standard foglamps. Due to an increase in the number of elements painted body color, the front end gives the impression of being lower. At the same time, the increased size of both the central and outer air intakes hint at the boosted engine output. The black trim at the bottom edge of the body is now considerably narrower. A matte-finished silver protection plate extends across the entire width of the central air intake, emphasizing the muscular features of the SAV, and accentuates the new BMW X5's character.

The dual round Xenon Adaptive headlights and foglamps are now situated higher and closer to the kidney grille. The BMW X5's new headlight fixtures emphasize high quality and sporting intentions. BMW's signature corona rings serve as position lights and daytime driving lights.

The newly conceived rear apron matches the graphic structure of the front end, while the intricately designed surrounds of the dual exhaust pipes are painted in body color to underline the BMW X5's premium character. In the center, a matte-finished silver protection element emphasizes strength and durability suitable for other-roads use.

Above the rear bumper, the rear of the new X5 is divided by parallel horizontal lines. The result is an accentuation of the width, highlighting the vehicle's athletic capabilities. The L-shaped taillight fixtures, each with two LED light banks, create the BMW-signature nighttime appearance of the rear end.

A choice of new body colors provides further visual enhancements. The metallic colors Deep Sea Blue, Platinum Grey, and Sparkling Bronze are now available for the BMW X5. Inside, the available Nevada Leather can be chosen in stunning new Oyster or Cinnamon Brown colors in addition to the familiar Sand Beige, and Black, and matte Satin Silver interior trim strips are added if the owner does not select from the available Brushed Aluminum, Dark Bamboo, Light Poplar, or Burl Walnut wood trims.

BMW X5 xDrive50i: BMW's Twin-Turbocharged V-8.

The new BMW X5 xDrive50i takes its place as the flagship of the X5 family, yielding 400 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 450 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 - 4,500 rpm from its twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V-8 engine. Introduced in the BMW X6 in Spring of 2008, this all-aluminum V-8 features High Precision direct fuel injection, "reverse-flow" architecture for revolutionary responsiveness and packaging, and BMW' s VANOS variable valve timing technology. Together, these features create what may be the perfect balance between high fuel efficiency, low emissions, and the dominant, dynamic performance expected of a BMW V-8. The 0-60 mph sprint is accomplished in 5.3 seconds.

BMW X5 xDrive50i starts at $59,275 including Destination & Handling.

As part of the V-8 engine's reverse-flow architecture, the twin turbochargers are situated in the valley of the engine's "V" and exhale separately into two catalytic converters which are located on top of the engine and exit aftward into the large stainless-steel exhaust system via downpipes on either side of the new 8-speed automatic transmission. The exhaust streams remain separated until they meet in the large muffler at the rear of the vehicle and exit through two large, trapezoidal exhaust tips.

First BMW 315 PS DA 2 1929

First BMW 315 PS DA 2 1929

BMW is one of the big German car manufacturers known for its rather expensive and luxurious cars but 75 years ago the beginnings of the company as a car manufacturer were rather humble. After the end of World War One the situation for BMW - which was founded as an aero engine manufacturer became difficult. The Versailles treaty strongly restricted airplane manufacture in Germany and companies had to look for other fields of business. So BMW turned to truck and boat engine, motorcycle and later car manufacture. When DIXI collapsed, BMW took the opportunity and bought the license for the Austin seven as well as the Eisenach factory. For the first months the production of the car continued as BMW 3/15 PS DA1.

1989 Audi V8L quattro

cars,car,model,1989,audi,v8l,quattro

Quattro (meaning four in Italian) is the name used by Audi AG to indicate that four-wheel drive (4WD) technologies or systems are used on specific models of the Audi automobiles. The Audi V8L quattro made by Audi AG of germany in 1989 and was the first Audi to use its namesake engine configuration. History Although the vehicle was based on VW/Audi's existing C3 platform (namely the 100/200 sedan), the V8 model featured standard quattro all-wheel drive and a 32 valve, DOHC V8 engine with either a five-speed manual or four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, giving it the power and road-holding ability to match the V8 powered offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The V8 closely resembled the 100 and 200 models, although a unique grill design, extended wheelbase, pronounced wheel arches and larger wheels helped distinguish it. Much attention was lavished on the vehicle's new engine, although the V8 was also significant in that it was the first production Audi to combine the quattro system with an automatic transmission. The 3.6 L (3562 cc) powerplant was essentially two four-cylinder engines which had been mated at the crankshaft to form a V8. In this case it was the Volkswagen Golf GTI's 1.8 L, twin cam, 16-valve inline 4-cylinder that provided the starting point. Power output was very strong for the day, with 250 PS (184 kW/247 hp) and 340 N·m (251 ft·lbf) of torque available over a fairly wide powerband. Audi introduced a long wheelbase version in 1990 and in 1991 made a 4.2 L (4172 cc) powerplant with 280 PS (206 kW/276 hp) and 400 N·m (295 ft·lbf) available. Like the base model, it had standard quattro and an optional automatic transmission, but a six-speed manual gearbox replaced the 5-speed of the 3.6 model. The car's base price in 1994, its final year of production, was US$58,700. Motorsport Audi developed a Group A competition version of the V8 for entry into the DTM (German Touring car Championship) and began racing with it in 1990 with Schmidt Motorsport running the operation and Hans-Joachim Stuck, Walter Rohrl and Frank Jelinski driving. Stuck won the title, and the following year Audi added a second team to the mix, Audi Zentrum Reutlingen. SMS continued with Stuck and Jelinski, while AZR raced with Frank Biela and Hubert Haupt. Biela gave Audi another crown in 1991, but was unable to defend the title in 1992. After that season, the DTM organizers deemed the V8's crankshaft illegal and Audi retired from the championship.
