Siemens WEST 2009 Pre-Season News

Saskatoon, SK, - Even though it is bone-chilling cold out west, the Siemens Western Elite StockCar Tour “WEST” is heating up for 09!  The Siemens WEST is a division of race car that sprang up from the ashes of the old CASCAR West Series and Sportsman division in Saskatoon.

It began under the leadership of a couple of Executive members in the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association, “SSCRA”, and a solid partnership with Siemens Transportation Group Inc., its 1700 employees, and ten transportation subsidiaries.  After two years of developing the series it has evolved into a partnership between the WEST Division Competitors and the SSCRA and the strong commitment by both to work together to strengthen the series and increase car participation.

The Siemens WEST aims to be the top show in Western Canada, providing the race fan with professional appearing race cars, and teams with fender to fender competition.  The Steering Committee wants to make the series attractive to new drivers, with clear rules and keeping the series affordable.

A very competitive list of drivers is set to hit the track in 09.  They include:
