Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, QC Stock car driver Patrick Laperle from Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, the 2008 American-Canadian Tour Stock Car Championship (ACT Tour) Champion and the 2007 ACT CASTROL Series Champion, will be competing in Quebec and select United-States events.
His objective is a second ACT CASTROL Series championship, a participation in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Invitational race and to enjoy being with his young family.
"Last year on the ACT Tour there was a lot of travelling and it was very hard on the team. Many tracks were far from home. This year we want to enjoy being with our young families while still competing in the sport we love" declared Laperle.
The ACT CASTROL Series is a 9 race stock car championship disputed at the following oval race tracks: autodrome St-Eustache (Montreal), autodrome Montmagny (Montmagny), Circuit Riverside Speedway (Saint-Croix-de-Lotbiniere), autodrome Chaudiere (Vallee-Jonction), Capital City Speedway (Ottawa, Ontario).
The ACT Tour is a 14 race championship disputed at the following oval race tracks: Lee USA (Lee, NH), Thunder Road (Barre, VT), Airborne Park Speedway (Plattsburgh, NY), Oxford Plains Speedway (Oxford, ME), Waterford Speedbowl (Waterford, CT), White Moutain Motorsport Park (North Woodstock, NH), Kawartha Downs (Kawartha, Ontario), Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (Beech Ridge, ME), Twin State (Claremount, NH).
On September 19, qualifying race winners, point leaders of the two ACT championships and of the associated ACT Tour race tracks will compete in an invitational 50 laps race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Loudon, NH) as part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup event.
The Laperle Racing team will debut its 2009 racing season on May 3rd in the Merchants Bank 150 at the Thunder Road (Barre, VT) ¼ mile race track, in a 150 laps race, the second of the American Canadian Tour Stock Car Championship.
