Greater Moncton speedways unite

Riverview, NB  -   Motor sports Promoters Herman Berry, Jr. (River Glade Speedway) and Tim Wile, Sr. (Shediac's CENTRE for Speed) announced today that they have reached an agreement to help build and ensure the long term success of stock car racing in South Eastern New Brunswick.  After several month's of discussions and meetings on the subject the two track owners inked a deal to co-promote Greater Moncton stock car racing, this past weekend.

The cornerpiece of the alliance is an agreement that the two tracks will run as one cohesive unit to deliver cooperative stock car events to the Greater Moncton area.  The speedways will not run stock car events on the same weekend and will run a common points system, points fund, payouts rules and proceedures for all stock car divisions.  The 2 track series is being called the "South Eastern Challenge Series" and will see 10 stock car "points" events at the two venues.  In addition each of the two facilities will have additional non cmpeting motors sports events and other types of non stock car related motor sports entertainment such as Monster Trucks, Music and Demolitions.

"I think this is a very positive step for stock car racing in our region", said Tim Wile, Sr. "I beleive this is something that the whole stock car racing community can benefit from;  fans, sponsors, drivers and the speedways.   I'm very excited about it.  This is going to be very interesting to watch and compete in this since our two tracks are so completely different.  It's going to  be a real challenge to see who will come out on top.  The only thing for certain is that the competitors in this series will be making history for the ages.   I very excited about this.  I think it's a great thing  for the Greater Moncton racing community."

Herman Berry, Jr. commented  "Tim and I with the help of Paul Rossiter and the racing teams from both tracks have come up with a set of building rules that are (for the most part) making it so any car in the Maritimes can race at our two tracks and our cars can go to all other tracks without having to make major changes.  With this alliance we hope to have increased car counts and give the fans some very exciting racing".

The speedways have all but finalized their schedules and are hoping to find a sponsor who will brand this historic series with their name prior to the start of racing.  Till then the season opener has been slated for June 14th in Shediac with the 10 race finale set for Riverglade on Sept 13th.  More schedule details are TBA in the coming days.
