Toyota Prius (Cooled By The Heat Of Sun)

Toyota Prius : Cooled By The Heat Of Sun
New solar powered ventilation and Remote Air Conditioning. Optional Solar Pack provides independent cooling of cabin when the car is parked. Ventilation operates independently from the vehicle motor, powered by solar roof panels. Additional Remote Air Conditioning function allows air con to be started up to three minutes before car is occupied, operated by key fob control.

MIT E-Motion Hybrid Concept Car

MIT E-Motion Hybrid Concept Car

MIT E-Motion hybrid concept car is a low-slung gullwinged two-door with a chopped-off rear end. The E-Motion hybrid concept car only has weighs about 800kg despite a length of 4.2m, because it was built around an aluminum spaceframe with plastic body panels. However, tt has a similar powertrain system to GM’s E-Flex. The MIT E-Motion hybrid concept car has designed with a tiny petrol engine (24bhp) serving only to supplement the drive from the lithium-ion batteries which power the motors under most conditions. The range between refueling and recharging is said to be 100km, with a roof-mounted solar panel topping up the electrical energy sources.

Hyundai Blue Will Hybrid Car

Hyundai Blue-Will is a plug-in hybrid concept car. Hyundai Blue-Will concept is powered by a Gasoline Direct Injected 1.6-litre engine with Continuously Variable Transmission and a 100kw electric motor. Hyundai Blue-Will’s electric power is stored in Lithium Ion Polymer batteries which, together with the fuel tank, are located under the rear seats. Hyundai Blue-Will, has exceptionally advanced technology crammed inside its striking bodyshell. Recycled PET soft drink bottles were used to make the material for the headlamp bezels while use has also been made of bio-plastics: PLA for the interior while PA11 was specified for the engine cover. These materials are made from plants extract rather than fossil fuels and are bio-degradable. Hyundai Blue-Will features  a 100kw electric motor which is at the heart of Hyundai’s parallel hybrid drive architecture. Hyundai Blue-Will's design flexibility is found on the panoramic roof. The glass area integrates dye-sensitized solar cells which can generate power for the batteries from the sun without impeding visibility.

Solar Powered Car By Sharp

Solar Powered Car By Sharp
Sharp was happy to show off its greener products at CES, starting with a big display for the Tokai Solar Car, pictured above. This vehicle is equipped with triple junction solar cells, which are incredibly efficient (and expensive). There was a tiny cell on display that was called the "Hope Diamond of solar cells" and it boasts an efficiency rate you may have a hard time believing. Check out that, plus other goodies from the Sharp booth.

Rinspeed iChange Concept

Rinspeed iChange Concept

Rinspeed iChange spent some seriously hard currency to the tune of €1 million to build it. The Rinspeed iChange Concept has as its main attraction, the ability to change from a 1 seater to a 2 seater and finally into a 3 seater via some electronic trickery. Clean technologies are also applied to the 130kW (177hp) Rinspeed iChange Concept so that it becomes a complete eco-friendly model car for the future motorist. At the push of a button the rear end of the teardrop-shaped car magically pops up. Rinspeed iChange Concept is a lightweight zero-emission car with dramatically reduced energy consumption. The basic idea behind the 'iChange' is the energy demand of a vehicle depends mostly on its weight, the type of engine it uses, and its aerodynamic properties. Rinspeed iChange Concept weighing in at only 1'050 kilograms. To power the car, the Swiss specialists chose an electric motor. The electric motor of the 'iChange' produces 150kW, capable of propelling the car to a top speed of 220 km/h. The sprint from rest to 100 km/h takes just slightly over four seconds. This impressive performance is made possible with the help of a six-speed pre-selector gearbox from the Subaru WRX car.An initial walk-around reveals that the concept car has no doors. The entire electrically powered roof section of the car measuring just 1.03 meters in height tilts forward to allow passengers to board. The system calculates the most energy-saving route and displays the directions in realistic 3D view. Solar panels on the top and sides of the roof provide electricity to the fan to keep temperatures in the 'iChange' comfortably low on hot summer days.

Kia Ray

Kia Ray
The most efficient Kia vehicles with significant fuel consumption and emission reductions developed under the EcoDynamics sub-brand will be identified with the EcoDynamics badge. Recently, the EcoDynamics sub-brand took a major step forward with the introduction of the Kia Borrego Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) followed by the Forte LPI Hybrid.Kia Ray utilizes roof top “cool-glazing” solar glass and a has a range of up to 746 miles. The Kia Ray is the fifth vehicle from the Irvine Calif.-based Kia Design Center America (KDCA) to be revealed in the last year. The stylish, aerodynamic Ray combines design and engineering for maximum efficiency, incorporating clean, flush surfaces minimizing any unneeded edges, a flowing profile and pronounced rear shoulder ending in a slightly high deck lid for reduced drag, touch-screen controls, drive-by-wire steering, “cool-glazing” solar glass and a lithium-polymer battery – all possible indicators of future technology from Kia.

2020 Hundai Futuristic Car

2020 Hundai Futuristic Car
2020 Hundai family car has an exterior shell made of contemporary transparent solar panels that gather sunlight to produce energy. The energy activates central water tank where water is synthesized into oxygen and hydrogen. Then this hydrogen produced serves as the power of car. The hydrogen is stored in the car while oxygen is released in this way the 2020 Hundai is also a environment friendly car with the zero emission of carbon dioxide.

2020 Hundai also features a beautiful sleek interior design and features layered body panels , unique arrangement of side mirrors and headlights. The driver seat can be moved into the dashboard area for improved road visibility. It is designed to provide an open and airy feel.

Solar Bug

cars.car,solar bug
The solar bug is an electric car that has solar panels on top capable of recharging its batteries (lead acid based) to increase the car's range by 1/3. The company hopes to be able to amke the car run 100% on solar energy in the future. It's got a top speed of 35 mph, a range of 60 miles, and takes 4-6 hours to recharge via plug. it weighs 900 pounds and will go for around $9,500 when it hits the road next year.

Helios Car

The Helios is an electric off-road vehicle powered by solar energy. The body integrates a system of large photovoltaic panels that increases charging capacity. To increase the surface area of photovoltaic panels, when stopped, the upper surface of car transform into a large "fan" with four wings to store more energy. This design was inspired by natural evolution some animals have strechable skin so they can absorb more energy.

Solar Car

In 1997, UniSA, Seaton High School, Fremont-Elizabeth City High and Annesley College formed the South Australian Solar Car Consortium. The aim of the Consortium was to help students design, build and race solar cars in the World Solar Challenge.

Our first car, Ned, debuted in the 1999 World Solar Challenge, where it came first in its class and 14th overall.

In 2000, Regency TAFE joined the Consortium and we started work on our second car, Kelly. Kelly was first raced in the 2001 World Solar Challenge.

Ned retired from racing and spent a year touring South Australian schools as part of a Sustainable Energy programme being run by The Investigator Science and Technology Centre.

TAFE SA ran Kelly in the 2005 and 2007 World Solar Challenges.
