Nevada’s premier driving ranch boasts $3 million luxurious members-only facility
Pahrump, Nev. - Club Spring Mountain Motorsports Country Club is a sport car aficionado’s paradise. Located on the Mojave Desert plain below the majestic Spring Mountains of Southern Nevada with a view of Mount Charleston, just less than an hour drive from the Las Vegas Strip, the facility’s 193-acres is dedicated to every level of auto enthusiast out there.
The only private motorsports country club in the southwestern United States, Club Spring Mountain is the brainchild of two California-based entrepreneurs and driving enthusiasts, John Morris and Brad Rambo. Together, they have created a world-class facility which includes a 3.5-mile private road course, 80 private single or double-bay garages, the recently-opened $3 million, 8,000 square foot resort-style clubhouse dedicated solely to the comfort and use of the club’s members, three high performance driving schools, flying club, karting, racquetball court and indoor shooting range.
“We’re selling memberships like a golf country club, but instead of golf, our members play with their own sports and exotic cars - Corvettes, Lamborghinis, Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, Ferraris, Mustangs, or even Mini-Coopers,” said Club Spring Mountain CEO John Morris. “Drivers of all skill levels can drive at their own pace and experience the excitement of motorsports with the added convenience and exclusivity of a private club.”
Club Spring Mountain offers the opportunity for private track time on its 3.5-mile road course. Members are invited to drive their own vehicles, and there are three fleets of high-performance cars; 26 Corvettes, 16 Lotus Sports cars, and two-seater $80,000 Radical British racing cars available with certified instruction for additional fees. The track has also sectioned off a separate 1.2-mile course for the club’s fleet of 12 Rotax Karts which hit speeds up to 80 mph hitting elevations of 50 feet.
The new resort-style $3 million clubhouse, decorated in the cushy men’s club style with sink-in leather couches, body-enveloping Daddy Bear chairs, Persian-style rugs, potted orchids and graceful Areca palms, features a fully-stocked catering kitchen, a luxurious granite bar and service space, 75-seat dining area, men’s and women’s locker rooms, an executive conference room, nine-foot Connelly billiard table, custom poker facilities, and nine wall-mounted plasma television monitors equipped for closed-circuit action on the track or to broadcast sports. The amenities continue outside and include an oversized veranda with cooling misters, large BBQ area and fire pit for those cool desert nights. Members and their guests hoping to get a birds-eye view of the track’s activities are welcome to sit atop the 23-foot-tall elevated viewing tower that provides amazing views of the track and nearby mountain ranges.
Adjacent to the outdoor patio and viewing tower is a 40-foot outdoor swimming pool and adjoining 600-square foot workout facility with state-of-the-art equipment including free weights, elliptical trainers, treadmills and a universal gym. Members who want relief from an intense day on the track are invited to utilize the Club’s spa room complete with a heated massage table (by-appointment only) or indulge in the outdoor 14-person Jacuzzi.
For the budding racer, the Club has launched for its Club Members the Spring Mountain Radical, Sports and Exotic Car Race Series; which include two-day meets held ten weekends throughout the year and are open to qualifying members and their rolling stock. These races include official race flaggers, corner workers and an ambulance on stand-by.
More than just a driving school, Club Spring Mountain offers its members access to two Remo G-3s Light Sport Aircrafts, a nice compliment for those looking to discover the easy-to-learn aircraft with rides or flight lessons in two-seater planes. Using the track straight-away for the runway, members may reserve private flying lessons with certified flight instructor and master pilot Elisabeth Murillo for only $70 per hour. In as little as 20 hours of flight time, members can receive a Light Sport Aircraft license for only $2,300. A Columbia 400 high-speed plane is available for private charters, and the Club has purchased a lot at the nearby Calvada Private Airport and hanger for its flying club operations.
Club membership also allows guests to experience the thrill of firing top-of-the-line weapons inside its two-station indoor shooting range or to hone their athletic conditioning inside a climate-controlled racquetball court.
The club also features RV pads for rentals by members, a 1,500-square-foot automotive shop building, and 80 rentable garages. The Lotus building is also home to the Lotus Performance Driving Program’s maintenance and storage facilities, a PowerTec engine shop and Dyno machine shop.
An 83-room/17-suite Microtel franchise hotel will be built on the grounds with groundbreaking slated by spring 2009. Switchcars.com, a full-service automotive firm, is now open on the Spring Mountain premises with a full inventory of sports and exotic cars.
The Switchcars.com showroom features a race-inspired theme and an impressive array of rare and beautiful exotic cars for the auto aficionado.
