Renault Wind Tuned by Elia coming to Essen Motor Show

After SEMA and more recently the ongoing LA Auto Show, next up on our motor show calendar is Europe's largest tuning event that takes place n the city of Essen, Germany from November 27 to December 5. Speeding to this year's Essen show is a new tuning proposal for the freshly launched Renault Wind by Elia.

The German tuning house said the package for the Twingo-based roadster model will include some subtle aero parts along with LED daytime running lights and 18 inch alloy wheels shod in 205/35 tires up front and beefier 235/30 tires at the back. Though it would make the package more desirable, unfortunately, the lady with the hot shorts and high-heel pumps is not part of Elia's offerings.

Performance upgrades will come in the form of a sport suspension and an ECU tune that promises to add 16HP and 28Nm of torque, though Elia didn't clarify if the software tune is for the 100HP 1.2-liter Turbo or the 133HP 1.6-liter engine

We'll have more details on the tune from the Essen Show next week.

The second package is more comprehensive and includes either 16-inch alloy wheels (18-inch rims are available as an option), LED daytime running lights up front, side skirts and a chrome piece for the tail pipe.

On the performance front, there's a tuning kit that recalibrates the 1.5-liter turbo diesel's engine's ECU lifting output to 122HP.

Frankfurt Show: Elia Renault Twingo GT-R

Elia unveiled a sport package for the second generation Renault Twingo which bear’s the name GT-R. The bodykit includes 17-inch rims, dual exhaust pipes, spoilers etc, and it will cost €3,000 or $ 4,171 in Germany. Moreover, Elia told us that towards the end of the year it would introduce a flexfuel conversion for the Twingo GT that will run on E85 bioethanol fuel, conventional gasoline or any mixture of the two. According to Elia, using bioethanol will not only make the Twingo GT’s 101 Hp turbocharged 1.2-liter engine more eco-friendly but it will also increase output by about 15 percent (116 Hp). -More images after the jump

Elia To Present Twingo GT-R In Frankfurt

German tuner Elia will take the wraps off its Twingo GT-R model based on the new Renault Twingo GT at the Frankfurt Show in September. Apart from the aggressive bodykit previewed in these sketches that Elia released (blue car) and the suspension / brake upgrades, the Twingo GT-R is expected to feature a tweaked version of the stock 1.2-litre turbocharged engine. In the Twingo GT, the 1.2T unit delivers 101 Hp so 130-140 Hp shouldn’t be a problem for Elia. Along with the GT-R Elia will also present a new bodykit (yellow car) and new alloy rim designs for all versions of the Twingo II. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below
