Engine Research, Inc. Backs the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for 2009

SYRACUSE, NY – In another important sponsorship announcement for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) comes with the signing of Engine Research, Inc. from Cobden, Ont.  Mike Blok’s successful engine building business is a part of the new point fund program for the Northwood 2/LaSalle Motorsports Canadian Sprint Car Series.

In a new endeavor for ESS, a point fund for all events held north of the border has already exceeded $12,000 and Engine Research is proud to be part of the program.  Mike Blok might be new to ESS but he has built championship winning engines for over 25 years!  Probably his most famous client is the legendary Bob McCreadie but also names like Brian McDonald, Rick Wilson, Dale Planck, Danny O’Brien and many, many more has had Engine Research power plants under the hood as they took home championships from several different speedways in the US and Canada.

Engine Research is involved mainly in high performance and race application engines but can help you in street and stock engine areas.

The machine shop is well equipped to handle any job from antique engine restorations to all out race units. A great deal of time and effort goes into each and every job, be it a prototype cylinder head and piston or a simple machine operation. Every job gets priority treatment with personal interest to add.

Experience comes from all forms of racing, such as, drag, oval track, dirt, super modified, off-road, endurance, marine, home-built aircraft and motorcycle. As well as, diesel, heavy truck, tractor, and passenger car.

“I am very proud to be a part of ESS and look forward to helping them in any way.” noted Blok from his shop.  “I have been impressed already with the publicity they have given me so far and I like to help them in return with the sponsorship.  I have already done motor work for Brain McDonald and his sprint teams and will be happy to take on more sprint customers”

The new Canadian point fund program has already drawn attention from many teams on both sides of the border.  With the added dollars being offered tracks will see an increase in car counts as race teams from Canada are looking to hit all the events trying to take home a large part of the pie. Also, teams from the US will be heading North as the lucrative point fund is being offered for just 10 events.  It is open to any team whether they run the full ESS schedule or not.
