Bingo.

Jeff Pappone is the motorsports writer for the Globe & Mail (Canada's National Newspaper). He has a gloomy item in the paper today about the fate of the Cdn. Motorsports Hall of Fame and the state of racing in general.

In his piece, he specifically mentions the lack of any presence by Andretti Green Racing or the Honda Indy Toronto at the Canadian Motorsports Expo as evidence that the event might have, er, issues.

"In the span of a few months, the Detroit Grand Prix was cancelled because of the struggles of the Detroit Three auto makers, the Edmonton race revealed it lost $5.3-million last year and now the new Andretti-Green promoter group for Toronto's July 12 race seems missing in action.

AGR Promotions failed to make an appearance at the Canadian Motorsports Expo last month and details on ticket sales have been slow in coming. They are now supposed to go on sale Feb. 13, but the absence of any real marketing of the event won't help get Toronto fans back in the stands after the race was cancelled in 2008 due to scheduling issues after the merger."
